2004 Spring Fellowship Minutes

  • The meeting was called to order by Lodge Chief Jeff Rassmusen
  • The meeting was opened by the obligation of our order

  • The minutes were read. Zack made a motion to accept the minutes as read the motion was seconded and passed  

  • Treasurers report we have $5,083.90 in checking and $24,982.04 in savings

  Committee Reports

  • Activities- Kenneth Pekarek reported that the activities’ chairman resigned but the activities this weekend were fantastic. 
  • Ceremonies- No Report.
  • Cook Team- David Smith reported that the food was good and they appreciate all of the help.  They are searching for a cook team chairman, if interested contact David Guynn.
  • Dance Team- Raymond Leatherman reported that the Dance Team is preparing to compete and win at Dixie Fellowship.
  • Drum Team- Brian Manuel reported that the drum team has been meeting every Wednesday after Dance team practice in Lincolnton. 
  • Service- No report
  • Camp Promotions- No report
  • Membership Development- Robbie Miller reported that they had 5 brothers convert to Brotherhood members this weekend and all brothers should make sure to pick up their brotherhood participation award packets.
  • Training- Robbie Miller thanked all of those who helped with the training sessions this weekend and if anyone is interested in training at Fall Fellowship contact Robbie.
  • Communications- Adam Lutterloh reported that the Elogams will be coming out soon.
  • Unit Elections- No Report.

Chapter Reports

  • Allowelendam- Robbie Miler reported that they meet the 3rd Tuesday of every month.  They are planning on going climbing in April.  He will also be contacting all troops in their district for unit elections.
  • Battleground- No report
  • Apatschin Tschitani- Clint Smith reported that they have an elections team going to each troop in the Chimney Rock District to help with elections.  They also performed a call-out ceremony for the Swamp Fox district on Saturday night.
  • Gemstone- Brian Manuel reported that the Gemstone chapter is in the Piedmont Council.
  • Heartland- No report
  • Lowaneu Watchseu- No Report
  • Occonluftee- Adam Lutterloh reported that the chapter is great and it did very well in Quest this weekend.
  • Tsungani- Patrick Hefner reported that they meet the 3rd Thursday at 1st Baptist Church scout hut in Morganton at 7.  Unit elections were held in each troop in district by the election team.  Eleven ordeal candidates were tapped out at their Spring Camporee.

 Old Business

  • Jeff Rasmussen reported on Merit Badge University.

  • Kevin Shook moved that the lodge provide $350 for 350 patches to be given to all leaders who bring 60% of their registered boys to summer camp.  The award will replace the +3 hats that were given out the past three summers.  Discussion was made. The motion was seconded and passed.

 New Business 

  • Scott Quick moved that the lodge provide $1,000 for the support of the Camp Promotion Book for summer camp.  The lodge has provided the money for the past 8 years and this qualifies the lodge requirement for quality lodge for the $2 per person gift to the Council for the Friends of Scouting Campaign. The motion was seconded and passed.

  • Jeff Rasmussen reported that all of the totem pole designs for Dixie Fellowship should be submitted to him at April Ordeal.

  • John Garwood made a motion to adjourn the motion was seconded and passed.

  • The meeting was closed with the OA song.
