2003 LLDC Minutes

was opened by the obligation of our order
- The minutes
were read. There were a few changes to the minutes. Brian
Manuel made a motion to accept the minutes as read the motion was
seconded and passed
- Treasurers
report we have $6,207.35 in checking and $25,123.87 in savings
Committee Reports

Activities-
Thomas White reported that upcoming year’s activities will be great
and that we are working on better and more fun activities. The
lodge theme will be decided on soon.

Ceremonies- No
Report.

Cook Team-
Phillip Moore reported that they are looking forward to a good year
with good food.

Dance Team-
Raymond Leatherman reported that the Dance Team meets Wednesdays at
7:30 at the LDS Church in Lincolnton. It is not too late to join the
Dance Team if you or another person is interested. Contact Raymond
if you have any questions.

Drum Team- The
drum team has been meeting every Wednesday after Dance team practice
in Lincolnton. We hope to have a strong showing at Dixie and NOAC
this year.

Camp Promotions-
John Garwood reported that they were getting ready for a great new
year.

Membership
Development- No report

Training- Robbie
Miller reported that he spoke to all of the chapter chiefs attending
the LLDC and asked that each chapter present a representative for
Training. If anyone is interested in being on the Training
Committee then contact Robbie.

Communications-
Adam Lutterloh reported that the Elogam would be sent out in late
November or early December. He also reported that the message board
and the list serve should be used more because they are very useful.
If you have a report to be published in the Elogam then email it to
Adam

Unit Elections-
Justin Perry reported that they are ready to get started this year
and hope to get many brothers.
Chapter Reports

Allowelendam-
Brandon Haney reported that the chapter is going bowling this month
at AMF lanes. He also reported that we meet the 3rd Tuesday of every
month at FUMC in Gastonia at 7:30.

Battleground-
Jeff Talent reported that we meet the 2nd Tuesday of every month at
Troop 101 Scout hut at 7:00. In December we will be meeting at
Golden Corral in Shelby at 6:30.

Tschitani- Reported that we meet every 3rd Thursday of every month

Occonluftee-
Robert Blakely reported that Occonluftee is up and running and
e-mail newsletters have been sent out to remind OA brothers of
upcoming events in the chapter

Old Business
New Business
- John Garwood
moved to approve the 2004 and 2005 Lodge Calendar; the motion was
seconded and passed.
- Robbie
Miller moved to design a Dixie Fellowship flap. The designs could be
turned in at Winter Banquet or Beaver Day. The designs would
then be voted on by the lodge leadership at Beaver Day, the motioned
was seconded and passed
- Zack Queen
moved to sell the left over Elangomat/Nimat patches to the
Elangomats and Nimats at 1 per person until gone. The motion was
tabled which failed. The motion was voted on and it failed.
- John Garwood
moved to approve the budget made by Joe Slade, the motion was
seconded and passed
- Zack Queen
moved to have a NOAC flap that will be selected by the lodge and
NOAC leadership to be sold to NOAC delegates be made. Any extras
will be sold at August Ordeal. The designs should be turned in by
Spring Fellowship and will be voted on at Spring Fellowship.
The motion was seconded and passed.
- Kenneth
Pekarek moved to not make any Dixie flaps, there was discussion, and
the motion was seconded and passed.
- Brian Manuel
moved to give $1,000 to the council for the James E. West Award,
there was discussion, and the motion was seconded and passed.
- Jeff
Rasmussen opened nominations for the James E. West Award. John
Garwood nominated Ron Thompson, Ed de Torres nominated Jimmy Arthurs,
John Garwood nominated Allen Thompson, Bud Quinley nominated Steve
McCan, Robert Blakely nominated Rodney Bobak, Zack Queen nominated
Kevin Gantt. The motion was made to close nominations; the motion
was seconded and passed. Nominations were held by secret
ballot. There was a runoff and there was a person elected.

Rasmussen reported on Merit Badge University
- John Garwood
move to have a Brotherhood ceremony each week of summer camp, after
a second and discussion, the motion failed.

reported on the Fish Fry “Thing” for Beaver Day.

made a motion to adjourn the motion was seconded and passed
