2003 Fall Fellowship Minutes

  • The meeting was called to order by Lodge Chief Jeff Rassmusen
  • The meeting was opened by the obligation of our order
  • The minutes were read. Thomas White made a motion to accept the minutes as read the motion was seconded and passed  
  • Treasurers report we have $8,740.23 in checking and $24,253.87 in savings

  Committee Reports

  • Activities- Thomas White reported that upcoming activities will be some of the best ever with Ron and Thomas in charge.  If you have any ideas please let Thomas know
  • Ceremonies- Peter Rowe reported that we performed a successful ceremony this weekend. He would also like to thank Kenneth Pakarek for his many years of service to the Ceremonies team, as Kenneth will be turning 21 soon.
  • Cook Team- no report.
  • Dance Team- Raymond Leatherman reported that the Dance Team meetings will be held on Wednesdays at 7:30 in the LDS Church in Lincolnton. The first few meetings will be orientation, which will be getting started, and looking over the videos of past dances. If there are any questions then contact Raymond Leatherman.
  • Drum Team- Ben Cook reported that the drum team will be starting up in the next week or two.  If you are interested in being on the Drum team see Ben Cook.
  • Service- No report
  • Camp Promotions- John Garwood reported that attendance at camp was down by 200 from last year and in council attendance was down. So support camp in your district
  • Membership Development- Daniel Thompson reported that they plan to meet soon and get new ideas for the new lodge year. 2 brothers obtained their brotherhood this weekend.  If you have any questions contact Daniel.
  • Training- no report.
  • Communications- Adam Lutterloh reported that the Elogam was given out and the Elogam will be better than ever in the upcoming year
  • Unit Elections- no report.

Chapter Reports

  • Allowelendam- Daniel Thompson reported that we meet the 3rd Tuesday of every month at FUMC in Gastonia at 7:30 and he was recently elected the new chapter chief
  • Battleground- No report
  • Apatschin Tschitani- Ben Quinley reported that the chapter had placed 3rd in the Iron Chef cook off. Most of our members were at JLTC but the new guys did a good job.
  • Gemstone- Thomas White reported that Gemstone placed second in the events for the weekend. We meet the 3rd Tuesday at the troop 171 scout hut in Mooresville.  John Barner was recently elected chapter chief.
  • Heartland- Matt King reported that they are meeting the 1st Thursday of every month at FUMC in Lincolnton at 7 p.m. This is the same time as roundtable so contact your leader if you need a ride. In November we are planning to elect new Chapter officers and are making plans on a callout ceremony for the next year.

 Old Business

  • Jeff Rasmussen reported on the Council Rendezvous.
  • Kevin Gantt reported that there are still many 35th anniversary flaps left so there should be less quantity of patches made for the 40th anniversary flaps

 New Business 

  • Joe Slade reported on the patch auction sales were $2003.21.
  • Ben Cook moved to change LLDC for Oct. 11 to Oct. 18, the motion was failed
  • Thomas White then moved to change the date of LLDC with the input from all the committee members and a postcard would be send out to notify when the date would be, the motion was seconded and passed.
  • A motion was made to cancel the previously scheduled LLDC.
  • Kenneth Pekarek reported that 7 brothers received the Vigil Honor this weekend. Curtis Bradley, Ben Cook, Brian Manuel, Scott Quick, Daniel Thompson, Larson Harsey, Daniel Grigg,
  • Joe Slade reported that the Arrowman Service Award sheet is available, it needs to be turned in by Dec. 1st
  • Ben Cook moved to allot $1,500 to print the Camp Leadership Guide, the motion failed
  • Ben Cook moved to replace the +3 hats with a council shoulder patch to promote camp attendance and to allot $350 to make 300 of these patches, the motion was tabled until further research was done
  • Jeff Rasmussen asked for nominations for the Founders Award. Adam Lutterloh nominated Kenneth Pekarek, Kenneth Pekarek nominated Thomas White, Kevin Gantt nominated Joe Story, Bud Quinley nominated Jimmy Campbell, John Garwood nominated David Watson, and Kenneth Pekarek nominated Adam Lutterloh. Thomas White made a motion to close the nominations. Motion was seconded and passed. After ballots were passed out and the votes counted, Jeff announced that there were 2 people selected.
  • Thomas White reported that the winter banquet will be held the first Saturday night in January at the Western Avenue Baptist Church in Statesville.
  • Zack Queen made a motion to adjourn the motion was seconded and passed
  • The meeting was closed with the OA song
