2002 Winter Banquet Executive Committee Minutes

  • Lodge Chief John Garwood called the meeting to order. 

  • The meeting was opened with the Obligation of our Order. 

  • The minutes were read and approved as amended. 

  • Treasurer’s report – We have $16,296 in checking and 23,501.81 in savings.

 Committee Reports

  • Drum Team – I have composed a letter about Drum Team.  Please pick one up.

Chapter Reports

  • Tsungani - We are currently planning our winter camping trip and we plan to attend CIS as a chapter.

  • Occonoluftee – We are hosting the Spring Camporee for the Lakeland District.  We need people to help work on staff and to help plan.

Old Business

  • Lodge Chief John Garwood has the Chapter of the Year requirements.  We will have an open forum going over change by change. We will vote on each change and then vote on the full requirements.

  • Kenneth Pekarek moved to amend spirit:  10 pts for visual (clothes, hats and spirit stuff), 10pts for spirit, and 50 pts max.  The motion was seconded by Zack Queen and passed.

  • Kenneth Pekarek moved to change Item 9 (community service) change from 10 pts to 100 pts and:  It must be reported in business meeting.  The motion was seconded by Adam Bartley and passed. 

  • Kenneth Pekarek move to strike Item 12 (requirement that each chapter maintain a chapter member list).  The motion seconded by Adam Bartley and passed.

  •  Jeff Rasmussen moved to in Item 5 remove Spring Camporee.  The motion was seconded by Adam Bartley and passed.  

  •  Kenneth Pekarek moved to, in Item 8, strike must officer and reports.  The motion was seconded by Adam Bartley and passed.  

  •  A motion was made to remove the Scout Show Points. The motion was seconded and passed.

  •  Thomas White moved for 100 pts for 1 day of service.  The motion was seconded Adam Bartley and passed.  

  •  Jeff Rasmussen moved to accept Chapter of the Year requirements as they are.  The motion was seconded by Adam Bartley and passed.

  •  There was a motion moved to approve the calendar.  The motion was seconded and passed.

New Business

  • Jeff Rasmussen made a motion to change the calendar to show the second ordeal to be on May 31 –June 2.  The motion was seconded and passed.

  • There is a charter bus available who wish to ride down on it to Dixie Fellowship in Charleston, SC.  There will be a sign up sheet available.  We need to have several people to sign up if we are to use a bus. The cost of the bus is $1800.00.

  •  Kenneth Pekarek reported the Lodge Web Site would drop the pop up ads.

  •  The cook team reported that David Quin has stepped down as cook team advisor and needs a new advisor.

  • The Scoutmaster diner is scheduled for the first Wednesday in February and help is needed.

  • Adam Bartley made a motion to adjourn; the motion was seconded and passed.
