Committee Reports
  • Activities - No Report.
  • Cook Team - This weekend we got cook team beads. For June Ordeal we might have flounder and shrimp, potatoes, hush puppies, and cole slaw.
  • Ceremonies Team - We have two new members, Daniel Baird and Kenneth Pekarek. Our Pre-Ordeal team finished in first place at Dixie with all principles winning first place. Adam Lutterloh placed second in Brotherhood at Dixie.
  • Dance Team - We won at Dixie again, and the Drum Team placed second.
  • Service - This side of the lake is ready for Cub Scout Residence Camp to start this week. We had the best work groups we have ever seen this weekend. We also had work going on in the OA campfire ring by many members of the Lowaneu Watchsheu chapter. They also came up to work on May 5; we all really appreciate their work.
  • Communications - The Elogam is ready and everyone should be getting one soon. There should be another one out in mid-July.
  • Camp Promotions - We had a lot of early bird registrations, but there is still room for more at Summer Camp this year.
  • Membership Development - Congratulations to all the new Ordeal members. We also had five members obtain Brotherhood membership this weekend.
  • Training - There was not time for training at this Ordeal; we will try harder to have training at later events. We are trying to get some out-of-Lodge trainers for LLDC.
  • Unit Elections - We still need for Troops to send in their election forms. There are still two upcoming Ordeals and we need to make sure we have as many possible worthy Scouts to come to the Ordeal and become a part of our Lodge.
Chapter Reports
  • Allowelendam - We had our call-out ceremony and several members of our chapter participated. We are going to procrastinate on our mosaic until the end of Summer Camp. We received two letters from the City of Gastonia regarding our service day on May 5.
  • Battleground - We have seven new Ordeal members and one new Brotherhood member. We meet on the third Thursday of every month, and we are planning to have a cook-out this month.
  • Gemstone - We have 13 new Ordeal members.
  • Heartland - No report.
  • Lowaneu Wachtshu - We have two new Ordeal members.
  • Occonoluftee - We meet the first Thursday of every month at 7:00 at First United Methodist Church in Conover. This month we will be discussing the possibility of making a new patch, T-shirt, and other Chapter things. We are also planning a special program for our Chapter. We had eight new Ordeal members and one new Brotherhood member this weekend.
  • Thermal - We have a new adviser, Steve McCann. We are also in the process of holding Chapter elections. We meet the second Tuesday of each month. We had two new Ordeal members.
  • Tsungani - On the 31st of this month we are going to have a camping trip to the Nantahala River. We had a very impressive call-out ceremony in which Robert White assisted us and 12 new Ordeal members were called out.
