Committee Reports
  • Activities - This weekend went well. We are still accepting patch donations for the patch auction at Fall Fellowship. Please give patches to Kevin Gantt. Fall Fellowship will be held on September 21-23. We have planned training sessions that include a possible Iroquois Dance session, and an outfitting session. We will also have a rocket race. The specifications will be in the Elogam. We are in the process of planning for NOAC 2002. There will be a session for registration interest at Fall Fellowship.
  • Cook Team - No Report.
  • Ceremonies Team - We did our ceremonies well. Jeff Rasmussen performed his first ceremony and we gave out Ceremony Team patch forms.
  • Dance Team - The Drum Team performed at the ceremonies.
  • Service - We would like to thank all the candidates and brothers that worked. We accomplished all tasks set forth by the ranger, and even accomplished a few more tasks. The Elangomat groups did a good job of keeping candidates working with vows of silence and scant food. This Ordeal season we accomplished all our Lodge goals for service this far. The only thing that we didn’t accomplish was getting the work projects before the Ordeal and delivering work projects on Friday nights at Ordeals. At Fall Fellowship a canned food drive will be held by Chapters. The Chapters with the most cans will receive some special recognition. Also a rock crew will work, headed up by Steve Barlowe and Roy Cloninger. There will be off camp service work projects that Arrowmen can get involved with. They are trail repair work on Asbury trail and the Mountain to the Sea trail. And if you are interested in either of these projects contact Brendon Haney or Mark Gantt.
  • Communications - Communications are GOOD. The Elogam should be out around Fall Fellowship.
  • Camp Promotions - Camp attendance is down. In-Council attendance is steady.
  • Membership Development - We had 53 new Ordeal members this weekend, bringing the year’s total to 136. We had 27 members attain Brotherhood. There will be Elangomat training at Fall Fellowship.
  • Training - We are working on training for Fall Fellowship and LLDC.
  • Unit Elections - We had a decent year. Looking forward to next year.
Chapter Reports
  • Allowelendam - We meet the third Tuesday of each month at Christ United Methodist Church in Gastonia. Our elections will be soon.
  • Battleground - We meet at the Troop 101 Scout Hut in Shelby. We will have Chapter elections soon.
  • Gemstone - We meet the third Wednesday of each month at the First Presbyterian Church in Mooresville, in the Scout Hut at 7:30.
  • Heartland - We desperately need to get an active Chapter started. If you have an idea for a good meeting place, contact Adam Bartley or Chris Horton.
  • Lowaneu Wachtshu - No Report.
  • Occonoluftee - Welcome and congratulations to all members in the Lakeland District. Our next Chapter meeting is this Friday at 6:00 at Nicholas Herman’s house. If you are planning to attend talk to Eric Herman or Nicholas Herman after the meeting. We meet the first Thursday of each month at First United Methodist Church in Conover.
  • Apatschin Tschitani - We have researched the Polk-Thermal Chapter’s original name and found it to be Apatschin Tschitani which means “He who returns stronger”. As a chapter we would prefer to start using the chapter Indian name instead of the Polk-Thermal heading for all lodge activities. We meet the second Tuesday of each month at First Baptist Church in Rutherfordton.
  • Tsungani - We are trying to get things together.
Old Business
  • The motion made at June Ordeal to modify the Lodge Rules, Section III, Paragraph F, to add “Drum Team” as a standing committee underneath the supervision of the Vice Chief of Program passed.
New Business
  • There was a motion made to sell all remaining 25th Anniversary restricted patches for $25at Fall Fellowship. If there are any left, we will continue selling them. The motion was seconded. There are approximately 90 left. The money will be used for NOAC transportation or spirit. The motion was passed.
  • There was a motion made that we change the standard issue flap to a not yet determined design. A design will be voted on at Fall Fellowship. Designs will be submitted then also. The motion was seconded and passed.
  • There was a motion made to allot $690 for the six participants going to NLS. The motion was seconded. The participants going are Kenneth Pekarek, Thomas White, John Garwood, Adam Lutterloh, Matt Smith, and Charles Garwood. The motion was passed.
  • There was a motion to change dates of Spring Fellowship from March 29-31 to March 22-24 to avoid conflicting with Easter. The motion was seconded and passed.
  • The new Chapter of the Year criteria will be presented at Fall Fellowship.
  • There was a motion to adjourn. The motion was seconded and passed.
  • Fall Fellowship is September 21-23.
  • Carolinas’ Indian Seminar will be in January. Staff will pay $10.
  • The meeting was closed with the song of our Order.

Respectfully submitted,

Adam Lutterloh
