Committee Reports
  • Activities - We are currently planning for Fall Fellowship. If you have ideas, see Kenneth Pekarek or Mike Nail.
  • Cook Team - We ask that no one make any changes to the bug juice unless you are on the Cook Team. Be sure to clean off your table, too much trash is being left on the tables. If anyone has any meal ideas please let Paul Sisk or David Gwynn know.
  • Ceremonies Team - We had a less than stellar performance. We are preparing for NOAC, we are going to compete in Pre-Ordeal and Brotherhood.
  • Dance Team - We danced for a group of Cub Scouts yesterday and are preparing for NOAC.
  • Service - We would like to thank everyone for coming out to help this weekend. The tents have been set up and are ready for camp.
  • Communications - The next Elogam will be out in June/July. The May Elogam has been mailed out.
  • Camp Promotions - Camp registrations are up 20 percent from last year.
  • Membership Development - We had 19 new Brotherhood and 58 new Ordeal members this weekend. We are on track for Honor Lodge.
  • Training - I (Matthew Smith) would like to thank Daniel Ray, David Blankenship, Kenneth Pekerak and Adam Lutterloh for leading the innovative programming session. I believe several good ideas came from the session although it was presented very late at night. Next Ordeal the Training Committee hopes to present a session on participation at a business meeting to help our new members as well as old members to learn to participate more in the lodge's business meetings.
  • Unit Elections - We are making plans to continue with elections during summer camp. Election forms continue to come in.
Chapter Reports
  • Allowelendam - We meet on the third Tuesday of the month. At our last meeting we had a hot dog social. We welcome our 10 new members. Congratulations to the newly elected officers.
  • Battleground - No report.
  • Gemstone - Gemstone is currently doing nothing at all.
  • Heartland - Congratulations to our 3 new members who went through their Ordeal this weekend. We are still trying to find a good time and place to hold our Chapter meetings. We would like to see all members back to support our Lodge and Chapter.
  • Lowaneu Wachtshu - Our next meeting will be in August on the third Thursday of that month. We had one Brotherhood conversion and eight go through their Ordeal.
  • Occonoluftee - We still meet on the first Thursday of every month at FUMC. In June we will be making home-made ice cream, so you must R.S.V.P. to Brian Barrett so that we will have enough supplies for you. We will be talking about a Chapter Trip with Rodney Bobak. We still need a Chapter Advisor, if interested, see Brian Barrett.
  • Thermal - no report
  • Tsungani - We held an OA tap-out at the Table Rock District Scout Show. Thirteen Ordeal candidates were tapped out. The singing/drum team performed for the tap-out. It was a very nice ceremony. A camp out is planned for Nantahala. We will white water raft and bike the Zalle trail. We had four new members go through the Ordeal this weekend.
