1999 LLDC Executive Committee Minutes

  • The meeting was called to order by Lodge Chief Dustin Drennan
  • The meeting was opened with the Obligation of our Order.
  • The minutes were read from last meeting and approved as amended.
  • Treasurer's report: we have $9,800 in checking and $20,363 in savings.
Committee Reports
  • Activities - We still will welcome new members. If anyone has any ideas for new and fun activities please see Kenneth Pekarek.
  • Camp Promotions - Working on new ideas
  • Ceremonies - No Report
  • Communications - If you have any information to go into the Elogam, send it to Thomas White at Elogam@aol.com.
  • Cook Team - No Report
  • Dance Team - The team is still looking for new members. If interested contact Robert White at RJWhitey@aol.com.
  • Membership Development - No Report
  • Service - No Report
  • Training - We set next year's goals and drafted our budget; LLDC went well.
  • Unit Elections - We set next year's goals and drafted our budget. If you want to help out please see Zack Queen.
Chapter Reports
  • Allowellendam - Our chapter meets on the third Tuesday of every month. During our last chapter meeting we planned our calendar for the 1999-2000 year.
  • Battleground - No Report
  • Gemstone - No Report
  • Heartland - No Report
  • Loweneu Watchsheu - We meet on the first Thursday of every month at First United Methodist Church in Lenoir.
  • Occonoluftee - We meet on the first Thursday of every month at First United Methodist Church in Conover.
  • Thermal - We participated at our district camporee. We held an O.A. cracker barrel on Friday night, and conducted the campfire on Saturday night.
  • Tsungani - No Report
Old Business
  • The fee to go to Carolinas' Indian Seminar has increased to $22.00. If you are on staff you do not have to pay. If you want to be on staff see Jeff Whisenant.
  • We have no current information about Dixie Fellowship. We will receive it at Council of Chiefs. To pre-register give $10.00 to Joe Slade.
  • Twelve youth and seven adults are going to Arrow Tec, but we only allotted money for 10 people. A motion was made to allocate an additional \\$495 to be used for tuition for Arrow Tec participants. The motion was seconded and passed.
  • We will be able to do work on the amphitheater by Spring Fellowship and the other Beaver Day, which will be held on April 1, 2000.
New Business
  • A motion was made to approve the 2000 budget. The motion was seconded and passed.
  • A motion was made to approve the 2001 calendar. The motion was seconded and passed.
  • There was a motion to make the Lodge's theme for 2000 "Y2K." The motion was seconded. During the discussion John Simms showed us a patch as an example of the theme. An amendment was made to the motion to make the theme "Eswau Undercover" instead, but to use John Simms' patch during the year. The amendment was seconded, passed, and amended the original motion. The new motion was seconded and passed.
  • There was a motion to adjourn. The motion was seconded and passed.
  • The meeting was closed with the song of our Order.
