1999 Fall Fellowship Minutes

  • The meeting was called to order by Lodge Chief Dustin Drennan
  • The meeting was opened with the Obligation of our Order
  • The minutes were read from the last meeting and approved as amended
  • Treasurer's report: we have $7,914.41 in checking and $20,363.44 in savings and we made $1,997.87 during the Patch Auction.
Committee Reports
  • Activities - Still looking for new members. If you have any ideas for next year's theme or wish to join see Charles Woodie or Kenneth Pekarek.
  • Camp Promotions - no report
  • Ceremonies - The ceremonies went well this weekend. We will start practicing for Dixie and NOAC soon.
  • Communications - no report
  • Cook Team - The weekend went well. Paul Sisk is our new chairman. We will need help today cleaning up the dining hall. We could use some help from people at LLDC to work in the kitchen.
  • Dance Team - We are still looking for new members. Our new chairman is Robert White. We will be doing an Old Style Sioux dance this year. If you are interested in joining please go see Robert.
  • Membership Development - We had five new Brotherhood conversions, and seven attained Vigil Honor.
  • Service - We have one more road pick up. It will be at LLDC.
  • Training - no report
  • Unit Elections - There will be only one chairman this year. Chapters should begin selecting chapter chairman, advisors, and teams for troop elections. The new chairman is Zack Queen, the vice chair is Bryan Mack, and the new advisor is Charles Lutterloh.
Chapter Reports
  • Allowellendam - The new officers are Chris Rasmussen as Chief and Odell May as Advisor. We enjoyed the race and would like to see it again. Congratulations to the new Vigils and new officers.
  • Battleground - We still meet every third Thursday at Troop 101’s Scout Hut.
  • Gemstone - During the race we beat Allowellendam and we are very proud of that.
  • Heartland - no report
  • Loweneu Watchsheu - Will meet third Thursday of every month at FUMC of Lenoir. We will hold Chapter elections at our next meeting. We are currently looking for some activities to spice up our Chapter meetings.
  • Occonoluftee - We meet on the first Thursday at FUMC of Conover.
  • Thermal - no report
  • Tsugani - We meet on the second and fourth Thursday of each month. We are working on a ceremony for the district fall camporee, and on a spring tap-out ceremony. Every second Thursday we are starting a Chapter drum team, anyone is invited.
Old Business
  • No one could go to NLS. Let’s try to get people ready to go to NLS 2000 by Spring Fellowship.
  • The Ceremonies Team didn’t compete at the Catawba Lodge Invitational.
  • NOAC - let’s try to get early registration, you will need to pay $50. We need to get a youth and an adviser for the bus, if you want to do it, see Dustin or Ed.
  • Carolinas Indian Seminar - It is January 21-23, 2000. If you want to be on staff please see David Blankenship or Jeff Whisnant or Ed. The Cook Team could also use all the help they can get, if you are interested go see David Guynn.
  • We are still collecting e-mail addresses, give yours to Gary Wilhelm.
New Business
  • Dixie Fellowship - Start thinking about going. You need to make a $20 deposit. Ask Joe Slade about it. It is at Tsali Lodge.
  • Motion to earmark Camp Bonner $500, or any other camp that might need it, for hurricane relief. Or we could go down to one of the camps and have a work day. Seconded and passed.
  • Arrow Tech - SR5 training conference. Consider going. November 5-7, 1999 in Columbia, South Carolina. Anyone can go. It costs $55.
  • Motion made so that the Lodge pays the tuition for every one that goes, youth and advisors. Seconded and failed.
  • Motion to allot no more than $550 for tuition for Arrow Tech. Seconded and passed.
  • We need to know if you can go to Arrow Tech by LLDC.
  • Motion to adjourn. Motion failed.
  • OA amphitheater - at August Ordeal we tore down two-thirds of it, and at a Beaver Day we will try to finish it. We want to put in stone seating instead of wood.
  • Motion to make another Beaver Day for the amphitheater. We will set a date at LLDC. Seconded and passed.
  • Motion to adjourn. Seconded and passed.
  • The meeting was closed with the song of our Order.
