Mount Jefferson rises abruptly to more than 1,600 feet above the surrounding landscape, serving as a landmark for area motorists. Acquaint yourself with this mighty peak by viewing it first from the Mount Jefferson Overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Park fees:
Picnic shelter reservations: $60 per day. Six tables, handicapped-accessible. Includes fireplace, large grill and drinking fountain. Restrooms (not handicapped accessible) nearby. Use of the shelter is free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis unless reservations are requested.

NOTICE: During the winter months, access areas may be closed due to snow & ice on the park roadways. If your plans include a visit to this park and you have questions, please contact the park office.
