Piedmont Scout
Reservation Information
About:
Located in the foothills of the South Mountain Range in Western North Carolina, the Piedmont Scout Reservation offers four distinct program areas. These include: (1) The camporee area and Rostan Family Lodge; (2) The Cub Scout camp and training areas; (3) The primitive camping and outback hiking area; (4) Camp Bud Schiele. The Piedmont Scout Reservation encompasses nearly 1,200 acres and meets the needs of thousands of youth and families throughout the year. The Reservation hosts training events for youth and adults, family activity days, Pack, Troop, and Venture Crew campouts and various Order of the Arrow service weekends.
In 2003 the Piedmont Council completed construction on combined Cub Scout Camp and adult training area centered around a new lake named in memory of the late James C. "Jim" Fry. The new Camp includes campsites, shooting sport ranges, waterfront facilities, a dining shelter, a campfire/ceremony ring, bathhouses and program shelters. It will host many of the Council’s Cub, Boy and Venture Scout training events.
Camp Bud Schiele serves as the cornerstone of the Piedmont Council’s outdoor program. Centered around a beautiful 31-acre lake. Camp Bud Schiele offers a full program of swimming, boating, target shooting, handicraft, nature study, and high adventure activity under the guidance of a nationally accredited staff.
