Kings Mountain State Park

Kings Mountain State Park rests in a picturesque setting adjacent to Kings Mountain National Military Park, a prominent Revolutionary War battle site. This traditional state park, which encompasses 6,883-acres, offers outdoor recreation activities such as hiking trails, picnicking, fishing from a rental john boat, seasonal canoe rentals, equestrian trails and more.

The national park is a short hike from the group campsites and offers a museum and a historic trail. Scouts can earn a patch by filling out a questionnaire that they can answer along the hike. Also nearby hiking trails can provide a fun diversion for older scouts.
