Chapter of the Year

Purpose:

To strengthen the lodge program by strengthening the individual chapter programs.  The result will be higher membership retention and a better quality program for the Piedmont Council.

 

Requirements:

Points

50        The chapter actively promoted the camp promotion material.

50        The chapter presented the camp promotions material to 100% of the troops that requested it.

50        The chapter had a unit election team.

50        The chapter sent a prepared unit election team to every troop that requested an election and reported the election using the latest edition of the unit election report from.

50        The chapter conducted a Call Out ceremony in their district and notified the lodge within one week of every candidate who was called out.

50        The chapter helped staff the district camporee.

50        The chapter actively promotes and assists with the district Webelos to Scout transistion, crossovers, etc.

200      25 points will be awarded per chapter service project with a maximum of 200 points and requirement of a minimum of 10 man hours per project and approval from the Lodge Adviser or Lodge Chief.

50        At least one chapter event held annually outside of chapter meetings (i.e. fun events, service project, etc.)

50        At least six (6) chapter meetings are held annually(three must be held away from lodge events).  All active chapter members must be notified of the meeting.

75        The chapter provides two brothers to serve as elangomats as needed. These names must be submitted to the Membership Development chairman and adviser one week before the Ordeal and the seleted brothers must be at the Ordeal they were submitted for.

100      The chapter has a ____% brotherhood conversion ratio ( comparing the number of new Brotherhoods to the number of last year’s new inductees).

                        30%--39% -- 50 points

                        40%--49% -- 65 points

                        50%--59% -- 80 points

                        60%--100%--100 points

50                The chapter participates in the Quest for the Golden Arrow at Spring Fellowship (25 points for participation).

1st place -- +25 points

2nd place -- +15 points

3rd place -- +5 points

50                Four articles are submitted about chapter are submitted to the Elogamussit.

75                The Chapter Chief and their adviser (or their representatives) plus two other members attend L.L.D.C.

50        The Chapter Chief and Chapter Advisor (or their representatives) attend each Executive Committee meeting and Lodge Business Meeting.

75        The chapter has at least 5 spirit items per event (i.e. chapter t-shirts, chapter hats, lodge theme items, etc.).

100      The chapter participates in the One Day of Service.

This program is designed to run from Fall Fellowship to Fall Fellowship and be turned in at L.L.D.C.  Every point should be verified and any letters from chapter members attesting to these points are welcome and encouraged.

            Every chapter that has earned more than 725 points will be recognized as an Honor Chapter.  The highest point total of all chapters will be recognized Chapter of the Year at Winter Banquet.
