Our Lodge maintains a bead system which was officially adopted in 1978. We hope to foster greater participation and attendance at Chapter, Lodge, Section, and National Order of the Arrow events by using this system.
The beads are worn strung on leather string, in an arrangement decided upon by the wearer. You are entitled to wear the beads which represent the events in which you have attended or participated. You will be able to look around and see who has been really active in our lodge by the beads which he will proudly wear.
You will receive a free bead at each event, proving your attendance. If you need replacements for lost or broken beads, they are usually for sale during normal Lodge store hours, and you may obtain a listing of eligible events and their corresponding beads then. In addition, each of the Chapters has its own uniquely colored arrowhead, which is placed below the beads as the first item on your string. You may paint the sign of your membership—Ordeal, Brotherhood, or Vigil—on each of your arrowheads.
